The artwork depicts a familiar view of the historic harbour of St Ives as seen from above Porthminster Beach. A seagulls view takes you across the rooftops. Then past the sandy harbour and shops and takeaways and to St Nicholas Chapel on The Island. The aqua blue so synonymous with views of St Ives was used as a highlight across the sky and the remains of the outgoing tide. The artist created the sketch with detailed line work using a pen and ink technique.
