Vegan Wax Food Wraps

 

These vegan wax food wraps made by design-led planet friendly company Beebee and Leaf are a great plastic free alternative to clingfilm.

Plastic suffocates food, trapping moisture and allowing a build up of bacteria which causes food to rot and spoil quicker.

These wraps are made from Organic cotton infused with a mixture of rice bran wax, sumac wax and resins, which allow food to breath prolonging the life of whatever you wrap in them and avoiding food waste.

They come in two size options, one perfect for Bread and other big items and the other a mixed pack containing 3 wraps of varying sizes.

The Bread Wrap

• Extra large wrap measuring 55 cm x 45 cm.
• Perfect for wrapping loaves of bread 
• Can also be used for housing fresh green salad leaves, covering traybakes and cooled leftovers in the pan.

 

How to use:

Using warm hands, shape around food in place of clingfilm or on top of dishes or trays.

 

Product Care Instructions

Hand wash in cool, soapy water using a mild dishwashing soap. However if hardened food remains, soak for a short period, then scrub them using a soft bristle brush or sponge. Leave to drip dry or peg out.

Store rolled in the box where your clingfilm used to live.

Do not use with raw fish or meat, and avoid all contact with heat including microwaves and ovens.

These wraps are reusable for a year. After that year you can dispose of it by putting it on an active compost heap or subsequently you can refresh it. Alternatively, burn as a firelighter on a barbeque or wood burning stove.
